In general I steer clear of WD drives due to my own personal high failure rate with them and usually stick with Seagate drives, but it's nice to know Toshiba drives seem to be good quality, time will tell. I don't use my laptop all that often, so it's nice to know that when I do boot it up, everything is still there. As a storage/program installation drive it performs great and I'm very happy with it. Got an SSD for the OS and still had the issue with the Western drive so I got this Toshiba to replace it. Hardware-wise, the Asus Q302LA-BBI5T14 delivers mid-range main components packed. The touch-enabled laptop can be converted to a classic tablet, as well as tent and stand presentation modes. It has a 360-degree hinge, as seen on the Lenovo Yoga, HP x360 and other series. It formatted and was recognized by windows, but files started disappearing and would soon fail to boot and I thought the laptop itself was to blame. The Asus Q302LA-BBI5T14 is a 13.3-inch convertible notebook PC. Overall Review: The Western Digital drive that came with my HP laptop died after about 3-4 years of ownership, even though I didn't fully realize the drive was failing. Packaging was ok, it was in a form fitting bubble wrap sleeve, very tight fit so it didn't pop out, more like an OEM type of package (didn't come in a Toshiba box)Ĭons: Seemed a little expensive for a 500 gig drive. Had 0 issues with it as a secondary/storage drive in my laptop for 5 months so far Seems faster than the SATA2 drive it replaced even though the new drive is still connected to SATA2
